Microdata Advances AI-Driven Education Through EdTalk Partnership with the Philippine Normal University

Microdata Systems and Management, Inc. strengthened its commitment to shaping the future of education through its partnership with the Philippine Normal University for an EdTalk event entitled “Integrating AI in Teaching, Learning, and Research”. Held on June 2, 2026, at the PNU HRD Auditorium, the event brought together educators and representatives from the seven member institutions of PASUC-NCR for a meaningful discussion on how artificial intelligence and modern learning technologies can support instruction, research, and collaboration in today’s academic environment.

Furthermore, Dr Bert J. Tuga, president of Philippine Normal University and PASUC-NCR chairperson, encouraged participants to explore the responsible use of AI in
strengthening teaching and learning through his opening remarks. He emphasised that artificial intelligence is no longer a distant concept but a present opportunity that can support
personalised learning, while reminding educators to remain ethical, critical, and mindful in using technology.

Moreover, the programme also included expert discussions from Mr Sherwin Pelayo, Chairman of the Technical Panel on AI and Data Analytics of the Commission on Higher Education, who shared insights on human-AI collaboration and the future of work and creativity in education. Meanwhile, Assistant Professor April Joy Gascon, acting director of the EdTech Centre of the University of Santo Tomas, presented the UST experience as a case study in building systems for an AI-driven university.
